Our Technology

Our state-of-the-art technologies ensure accuracy, efficiency, and comfort. Our dental equipment is safe, effective, and well-maintained. Some of our dental technologies include those listed below:

Dental cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) is an advanced type of imaging that allows you to capture 150+ images of your mouth at a different angles. The images are then digitally complied into one three dimensional image to allow for visualization of dental structures, soft tissues, nerve paths, and bone. This allows us to surgically plan for extractions, diagnose temporomandibular joint disorder (TMD), evaluate the jaw and sinus, determine bone structure and tooth orientation, and accurately plan for dental implants.

Our CBCT allows for a higher quality image, an complete evaluation, a more accurate diagnosis, more precise treatment planning, fewer complications, and more successful outcomes.

It eliminates the need for traditional putty impressions, which can be uncomfortable and time-consuming. The scanner produces 3D images of your teeth, which can be viewed in real-time on a computer screen. This allows Dr. On to quickly and accurately diagnose any dental issues and develop a customized treatment plan that meets your unique needs. The intra-oral scanner is a safe and effective tool that makes dental visits more enjoyable and less stressful for patients.

At Smile On Dentistry, Dr. Jade On uses the latest intra-oral scanner technology to provide patients with a more comfortable and efficient experience. The intra-oral scanner is a handheld device that captures digital impressions of your teeth and gums.

Smile On Dentistry utilizes digital x-ray technology to provide patients with a more comfortable and efficient experience. Digital x-rays use significantly less radiation than traditional x-rays, making them a safer option for patients. They also produce high-quality images that can be viewed on a computer screen in real-time, allowing Dr. On to quickly and accurately diagnose any dental issues.

The images can be enhanced and enlarged for a more detailed view, and they can be digitally stored, reducing the need for paper records. Digital x-rays are also more environmentally friendly than traditional x-rays, as they don’t require chemicals to develop the images. Overall, digital x-ray technology is a valuable resource that helps Dr. On provide the best possible care for her patients.

The intraoral camera is about the size and shape of a pen. It is used to record images of your teeth, gums, mouth, and tongue from inside your mouth. Due to its small size and sleek design, it is comfortable, easy to use, and able to view a wide range of angles. The intraoral camera is a safe and effective tool that can be used with patients of every age.

The intraoral camera is a highly valuable resource for both diagnosis and treatment planning. Each time we use the intraoral camera, a new disposable cover is employed. This ensures your health and safety at all times. After your exam, images captured by the intraoral camera may be digitally stored, printed out, or deleted.

Dr. On has trained in laser therapy in order to provide you with soft tissue or gum treatments in a minimally invasive way. With the laser, patients have reported less bleeding and swelling and much less post-operative pain compared to traditional scalpel and suture techniques. Our soft tissue diode laser allows us to perform gum treatments in a faster, smoother, and more efficient manner. It’s unique dual-wavelength design allows for short pulses of power, which allows the soft tissue to cool effectively throughout the procedure. This pulsed power means less thermal damage, more patient comfort, and less anxiety about needing any sort of gum treatment, including: biopsies, frenectomies, gingivectomies, operculectomies, sulcular debridement (removal of diseased, infected, inflamed, and necrosed soft tissue in the periodontal pocket to improve clinical health), treatment of canker sores or aphthous ulcers, and hemostasis and coagulation.

We believe in using the latest technology to provide our patients with the best possible experience. That’s why we’ve implemented paperless new patient forms. This saves you time and eliminates the need for paper records, making our practice more environmentally friendly.

Electric handpieces are more precise and efficient than traditional air-driven handpieces, allowing us to perform dental procedures more quickly and accurately. They also generate less heat, which reduces the risk of tooth damage and discomfort for our patients.

In addition, electric handpieces are quieter than traditional handpieces, making for a more relaxing dental experience. Overall, electric handpiece technology allows us to provide our patients with the highest quality of care in a comfortable and efficient manner.

Our state-of-art ultrasonic scaler is the Cavitron, a handheld device used in periodontal deep cleaning. While scaling can be completed by hand, the Cavitron uses ultrasonic technology to remove calculus from teeth and gums quickly, gently and effectively.

With the Cavitron, patients enjoy a more comfortable experience and time spent scaling and polishing is decreased.
